MORE ABOUT FERMENT BREWING COMPANY:

"Ferment opened in 2018 with a brewery and tasting room that overlooks the scenic Columbia River in Hood River, Oregon. We offer a unique family of award-winning beers brewed with the highest quality ingredients from the Pacific Northwest and around the world.

Because we’re situated in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, we tap the wild terrain of the Columbia River Gorge, and the bounty of the Pacific Northwest, for inspiration and ingredients.

Our beers are wildcrafted with glacial water and natural yeast harvested from the slopes of Mt. Hood, and we source fruit from the nearby farms that surround Hood River.

BREWMASTER - DAN PETERSON:

Growing up in Vermont, Dan spent nearly as much time in the woods as anywhere else. An interest in life sciences led him to study Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and earn a degree at the University of Vermont. Long days in the lab were balanced by a scientific approach to home brewing on the weekends.

After a cross-country road trip, Dan returned home determined to be a brewer of great beer.

The following eight years saw Dan develop his brewing and beer lab-guy skill at the Brooklyn Brewery, start a family, and move to Hood River. He brewed two and a half years at Full Sail before joining pFriem as their first Head Brewer.

As Brewmaster and Ferment's very first employee, Dan oversaw the building of our beautiful brewery and loves sharing his love of good food and drink with all."
