We did an event with both of these folks earlier this year and it was so much fun we decided to do it again. This time with some other, more seasonally appropriate lagers.
Wayfinder and S&H Imports are bringing some darker offerings to taunt your festive taste buds during this blind tasting.

Kevin of Wayfinder & Dan from S&H Imports will be on hand to reward you the efforts for those who can guess all beers correctly. Test your lager knowledge and try to guess which one is brewed locally and which has been imported.
Over the last few years we’ve seen a number of Jester King’s bottles come and go from our shelves, and we are excited and humbled for another opportunity to showcase some of the country's best farmhouse beers to the Oregon market.
We will have a few special kegs as well as some rare and very special, ON-SITE ONLY bottles for your imbibing pleasure.

La Vie en Rose - An ale re-fermented w/ "spent" raspberries
Kollaborations - A hoppy pilz wort from Live Oak fermented w/ Jester King’s mixed culture

These bottles are extremely limited so get here ASAP so you can enjoy one of the most unique "Méthode Gueuze" beers produced in the country.
Meet the Barrel Program Manager for Drake’s Brewing, Travis Camacho, who is in town for the Holiday Ale Festival. Each year, Travis works with HAF director Preston Weesner to create their collaborative Vin Drakonic Grape Fermented Imperial Stout.
Here’s what Travis has to say about this very special beer:
“Every year for the Holiday Ale Fest in Portland, Oregon, we create a beer that will be sure to stun the fest goers at what is one of the best Beer Fests in the Pac NW. We’ve taken our Drakonic Imperial Stout and fermented it on Grenache grape skins with our house blend of wild yeast and bacteria to turn our malty monster into a completely new creature. Initial fermentation was in a stainless tank, and was then transferred into Zinfandel as well as Petit Syrah barrels, and left to condition for 8 months. The final blend is a blend of strong raspberry/grape fruitiness with a pleasant dark chocolate and tobacco-like malt profile. The beer also gained a pleasant tartness from wild fermentation; the final product walks the line somewhere in between a glass of wine, Imperial Stout, and Flemish Red.”
We’re lucky enough to get one of those kegs, plus we will be putting their Brut IPA and Denogginizer DIPA on tap too!
We are excited to help introduce Garden Path Fermentation to Oregon. We will be pouring four beverages in the Biercafe, and we will have a small selection of bottles in the bottle shop to go.
Since we are not too familiar with Garden Path Fermentation, we’ll let them share a bit of history and what they’re all about in their words:
Garden Path Fermentation’s co-creators, Ron Extract and Amber Watts, have a long history in the brewing industry. Most recently, they were at Jester King Brewery in Austin, TX, where Ron was an owner and managing partner, and Amber helped manage the tasting room and front office. While it was inspiring to be part of the team that helped Jester King grow into a world-class farmhouse brewery, Ron and Amber were ready to start their own project from the ground up.
Garden Path Fermentation is a brewery/winery/cidery/meadery in beautiful Skagit County in the far northwest corner of Washington State. We focus on the slow fermentation of local products—Skagit grains, honey, and fruit, and Northwest hops—all of which are fermented in oak with our native yeast culture cultivated from the air, flowers, and fruits of the Skagit Valley.

Ron and Amber will be here to take you on a guided tour of their fermented products. Look closely, we have a mead on the list.
The guided tasting is open to anyone. Simply purchase a flight at the bar in the Biercafe and join us on the back patio. Tasting will start around 5:30 in our covered and heated back patio. Ron and Amber will walk you down the path, sharing stories of inspiration and talk a bit about the beverages themselves.
We welcome the good folks from Bend Brewing for a night of good cheer and fine libations.
Established in 1995 BBC (Bend Brewing Co) has been making some of the best and most award winning beer coming out of central Oregon. With a production expansion and the addition of their grand outdoor patio space at their downtown Bend pub, BBC is sure going to turn some heads in the years to come.

Folks will be given a raffle ticket for the chance to choose a gift-wrapped prize. What is it? A Pelican hat, or a t-shirt, or is it a lump of coal? No matter whether you are nice or naughty the Bad Santa will reward you with a treat to get you in the holiday swing.

Join us for the psychedelic bottle release of ‘The Cat Ate My Stash and Pissed on the Xmas Tree’ IPA. This beer first made its appearance at last year’s Holiday Ale Fest. Getting it’s inspiration from hoppy winter offerings of the west coast this tasty little bugger is sure put a smile on up any scrooges winter day.
“The Cat” will be on draft in the Biercafe along with bottles in store.
Wade the Gigantic beer guy will be in the bottle shop performing a tasting of everything Gigantic has to offer, which is 10 plus beers right now.
Ben Love, founding brewer, and all around great guy will be co-hosting in the Biercafe.

Beers on draft will include:
Rhino Suit – First released back in 2016 and it’s back. This spirits barrel-aged imperial milk stout has flavors of vanilla and coconut over the velvety chocolatey malty profile of the base stout.
Four Merchants – Matured Four Brothers quad in red wine barrels with just the right blend of spices to complement the complex flavors of the base Belgian-style quad.
Raspberry Parliament – Inspired by the red and brown ales from the Flanders region in Belgium, we initially matured this unique wild ale in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels. It was then moved into second-use charred American oak barrels that formerly held bourbon with Oregon raspberries to provide tart and sweet flavors that marry with the mild oak and funkadelic yeast complexities.
Farm Fresh – Fall in the Pacific Northwest brings the harvest of one of our beer-loving state’s most prized crops - hops! Alesong took advantage of this year’s bounty by stuffing fresh Centennial hops from nearby Norton Hop Farm into barrels of an aged, light-bodied, and tart farmhouse ale.
All of these draft beers will be available to the general public along with a limited amount of Rhino Suit and Raspberry Parliament bottles.
Grain Mechanics Helles-style lager (the collaboration) will be on tap and in cans, to go.
Along with the collaboration Grain Mechanics we will be pouring these other fine beers.
-Matchless Clarity Found IPA - The second installment in clear (but not really) IPAs features Comet and Cashmere hops.
-Matchless Blueberry Master Blend
-Mirage RAON LÙTHA - A tart blend of barrel-fermented wild ale, saison aged for a year in Rosé of Pinot Noir barrels, and acid beer fermented solera-style in a foeder.
-Mirage Pink Mink DIPA - A NE-style Double IPA triple dry-hopped with Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe, and Motueka
Yachats Brewery + Farmstore has been a center for craft, place and culture since it’s founding in 2013. Located on the Oregon coast they’re producing some of the most unique beverages in the area.
Bottle pours will include:
Cetacea - Saison w/ Szechuan Peppercorns
Kreik - Flanders Style ale w/ Cherries
Salal - Sour Ale w/ Salal Berries
Peach - Oak Fermented Saison w/ Peaches

Our Days of Darkness celebration continues with a Speedway Grand Prix Event.
We will be tapping AleSmith’s famed Speedway Stout along side some pretty cool variants.

Our Days of Darkness celebration continues with a tapping of Prairie’s famous Imperial Stout, Bomb!, which has been deconstructed for you. Each component listed below will be on tap and served together in a flight for you to create your own “Bomb!” blend.
All of the above beers are an imperial stout base with a the single adjunct added.
Along with these components we will also be pouring the “constructed’ Bomb! for comparison.
We are hosting Founders for the release of CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout), both on draft and in bottles.
For those whom may not yet be familiar with this beer. CBS is a maple syrup Bourbon barrel aged coffee chocolate imperial stout, which Founders describes as a beer with rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Swift Cider releases the first small batch of its long-awaited Heirloom cider series at Belmont Station TONIGHT! Guests can try draft pours of Batch 1: The Sauvie Island Keeve . Founder and head cider maker Aidan Currie will be in-house to tell us more about his plans to release a few small batches monthly featuring distinctive blends of rare estate-grown cider apples from Sauvie Island.
