MORE ABOUT HOPWORKS BREWERY:

"Hopworks is a family-owned B Corp brewery founded in Portland Oregon in 2007 by Christian and Brandie Ettinger.

As young entrepreneurs and parents to a toddler and newborn at the time, life was crazy and exciting to say the least, as we navigated our way through the ups and downs of building and operating a new, sustainably focused business. Our goal was simple: combine world-class beer and food together in a cool space and operate as sustainably as possible. We started with a single pub and 43 talented co-workers and have grown to 2 locations employing 80 people and distributing beer in 6 western states (OR, WA, ID, MT, CO and CA) and Japan. Now, fifteen years later, our kids are in high school, and Hopworks continues to brew the delicious beer that remains at the center of everything we do and we love to use its magical powers to gather and to support our community!

Hopworks is grateful for our community support over all the years, and we are more passionate than ever about beer and work hard every day to fulfill orders, exceed expectations, and have fun in the process.

The Hopworks vision was born when Christian worked in grocery store as a high school student and observed first-hand the excitement brewing around the burgeoning Portland brewing scene of the late 80’s. He attended University of Oregon Business School and after a sophomore semester studying in Cologne, Germany and a senior internship at Oregon Fields Brewery coupled with some homebrewing, and he knew he would open his own brewery someday.

After assistant and head brewing jobs at Eugene City Brewery he attended the American Brewers Guild in 1998. After graduating he helped open Old-World Pub and Brewery followed by Laurelwood Brewery where he was awarded 2004 World Beer Cup Champion Brewmaster. He set out on his own in 2006 when he and his father Roy began the enormous undertaking of building Hopworks in an old tractor showroom SE Portland."
