It's hard to believe that 12 years ago, Belmont Station launched a celebration of sour and wild ales with just a handful of offerings. But here we are, a dozen years later -- and a LOT more great beer to share!
In addition to special releases and offerings from our long-time contributors such as Ale Apothecary, Block 15, Double Mountain, Upright, de Garde, Breakside, and so many others, we are bringing in a good number of great breweries that we usually don't see around here specifically for the event, including E9, Libertine, TRVE, Paradox,Stoup, Floodland, Hill Farmstead, Wunderkammer Bier, The Rare Barrel , The Good Beer Company and more!
Instead of having "themes" each day like we have in the past, we are just going to put all the great beers on tap and rotate them through as quickly as you can enjoy them. So it will be key to keep an eye on the live draft list on our website to make sure you don't miss anything!
That being said, we do have three special events happening during Puckerfest:
Thursday July 19: Cherries & Heavy Metal Puckerfest Kickoff
We kick things off with some tasty krieks and other delights from Double Mountain, and, as is tradition, Matt Swihart and friends will be bringing fresh cherries for us to nibble on. And Denver's true Heavy Metal brewery, TRVE, will be in-house, sharing their incredible sours and hanging out with us! Look for this all to happen around 5-8 PM
Sunday July 22: An Afternoon with Vasili
Fresh from his current home in Vermont, Oregon ex-pat Vasili Gletsos will be in the house from 2-5 PM! (And, yes, there will be Hill Farmstead and Wunderkammer Bier on tap!) Looking forward to seeing our old pal!
Monday July 23: The Culmination of Strange Loop
Culmination brew crew members unveil their new side project, Strange Loop Brewing. Culmination will also have something sour on tap for us! Brewers on site 5-8 PM.
- At least 20 of our 35 taps will be pouring a rotating variety of sour and wild ales -- many rare -- for the duration of Puckerfest 12! (For those who are sour fans, that means we still will have taps pouring other tasty things to drink.) Find out what is currently on tap by checking our LIVE DRAFT LIST on the website.
- Puckerfest runs all biercafe hours of operation each day during the celebration. Special times when brewers will be in-house are listed above.
- Kiddos (those under 21) are allowed in the biercafe until 7 p.m. (They are always welcome in the shop).
- In addition to a lot of rare draft beers we usually don't see around these parts, many of these brewers also sent package options, so make sure to also check out our blog for those new arrivals (updated Tuesdays and Fridays). And get here early for those, as they no doubt will go fast!
- Bring friends, share your beers. It's a great way to sample more of these special offerings.
- Speaking of which, we will have wine and cider on tap, not to mention a great variety in the shop you can bring over to drink on-site, so bring your friends who aren't beer crazy, too. (Just make sure your bartender opens that bottle or can for you -- it's the law!)
- Remember to eat! Our on-site food cart, Monk's Deli, is going to be cranking out some great grub to help soak those sour suds. Check out the menu.
- Have fun! It's going to be an awesome Puckerfest -- so prepare to pucker up!
Melvin's latest addition to their core lineup is "Crafted on Wyoming’s West Coast ... with 100-percent lupulin cryopowder, we hit the cross-fader between old-school brewing skills and new-school hop technology, creating this tasty remix guaranteed to keep your head ringing."
Sure, it will be delicious. But it also will be life-changing. Maybe not for you, but for people benefiting from the great works of RIP Medical Debt. RIP is working to raise enough in donations by the end of 2018 to purchase and abolish $50 million in unpayable veteran and military personnel medical debt in America.
Because of their buying power, $100 in donations can forive $10,000 in debt. And all the money raised through Your IPA sales in Oregon stays in Oregon!
So come taste this futuristic approach to homegrown beer. And help get some Oregonians back on their feet financially!
Join AleSmith for an enlightening evening of great beers paired with delicious cheeses, hand-selected from Steve Jones of the Cheese Bar and Chizu! Purchase of a pairing plate includes three beer and cheese pairings, plus two additional cheeses for you to experiment. Supplies are limited, so plan to get here early!
Here's your chance to meet a few of the fine folks that keep the beers at Revision Brewing flowing: Jeremy Warren (CEO/Brewmaster) and Darla Roberts (VP, Sales & Marketing)! Whole Lotta Ruckus, described as a "Northeast-Style Double IPA, combining the best of Northeastern tropical juiciness and West Coast piney aggressiveness," will be on tap, along with State of Haze, a hazy IPA! And of course, there's Revision offerings in the bottle shop to take home.
There's a reason the Northwest is leading the new wave of lagers: we have brewers with amazing lager pedigrees!

~pFriem Japanese Lager
~Chuckanut Gerste Lager
~Wayfinder Hidden Hand Cerne Pivo (Czech Black Lager)

Meet the mad scientists who created Native Oregonism, a new collaboration from Ale Apothecary and Culmination. Paul Arney and members of the Culmination crew will be on hand to talk about the collaboration. We will have this new beer available to take home in bottles as well as enjoying on draft in the Biercafe!
Cider meets beer in this love story that goes back at least two years. That's when Portland Cider Co. decided to fill a few Breakside anniversary barrels with some tasty cider. The result was so delicious, they did it again last year. The results are two very rare draft ciders that also are quite different -- from each other and from other beers or ciders!
Come taste both ciders, plus a handful of Breakside barrel-aged beers on draft:

Our event runs 5-8 PM and Saraveza's runs 6-9 PM, so you can swing by both establishments or just stick closer to whichever part of Portland you call home! Check back here for details on what we will be pouring that night!
We are bringing out a LOT of great Firestone Walker beers from the cellar for this one! Come meet and chat with one of the most highly lauded craft brewers in the world! From 5-8 PM, Matt will be on site, talking with friends and fans, and, of course, enjoying some great Firestone Walker beers!
Buy a Firestone Walker bottle in the shop and Matt will sign it for you! (Sorry, no outside bottles allowed, just to keep things simple.) Matt's one of the nicest, most humble guys around, so we know it will be a great time!
We are proud to once again host this amazing fundraiser for the American Cancer Society! We will be pouring Silver Moon's delicious F*ck Cancer IPA on tap and there will be stacks of the bottles for sale in the bottle shop to take home. This year's bottle label features the names of cancer fighters! Proceeds from each case and keg go to the American Cancer Society to help find a cure against this terrible disease.
This is truly one of our favorite events each year, and we hope you will join us as we raise a glass to all the fighters: those who have survived, those who lost their valiant battle, and all their supporters. Let's raise a middle finger to cancer and raise some money to find a cure.
