Only a couple of new beers today, but every brew deserves a moment in the spotlight, right?
- Dogfish Head Hellhound On My Ale - The second release in DFH's "music series" (the first being Bitches Brew), this one was brewed to honor the 100th birthday of Robert Johnson and is a riff on his classic album Hellhound On My Trail. This massive IPA clocks in at 10.0% abv and 100 IBUs, and as a tribute to Johnson's mentor Blind Lemon Jefferson they included dried lemon peel and fresh lemon "flesh" to the brew.
- Lagunitas Little Sumpin Wild - A variation on their popular "Wheat IPA" Little Sumpin Sumpin, this limited seasonal is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain (reportedly from Westmalle) to add some fruity esters and a bit more dryness.
- De Molen Cease & Desist - Originally called "Rasputin Imperial Stout", De Molen was forced to change the name to "Disputin" after receiving a C&D from North Coast Brewing over the name. Apparently not happy with that name either, they have released a new batch (now in 12oz bottles) called Cease & Desist, and couldn't resist taking a jab at North Coast in the process. I don't want to spoil it, so be sure to read the label.
We also have a handful of things that are back in stock after absences, many of which are leftover cases from the PIB: Stillwater Jaded Saison, JW Lee's Port Barrel-aged Harvest Ale 2009, Bruery Cuir, Primator Maibock, Dogfish Head My Antonia, and Dogfish Head Squall.
Last, but certainly not least, don't forget about Puckerfest. A week full of sour and funky delights from near and far with "meet the brewer" nights and special tappings almost every day!
