Not much in the way of new things for the last week, but we've got a couple of tasty new things to whet your whistle.
- Anchorage Brewing Whiteout Wit - A Belgian-style wheat beer aged in Chardonnay barrels and spiked with brettanomyces for an earthy, spicy, bone-dry brew. This is the first release from Anchorage Brewing, founded by Gabe Fletcher, the highly-regarded brewer responsible for crafting many of the award-winning beers at Midnight Sun. If this brew is an indication of what to expect from his new endeavor I think we'll be in for some real treats!
- Southern Tier Hop Sun - (commercial description) "Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops co-mingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Hints of lemon and sweet malts waft to the fore as a touch of bitterness contributes to Hop Sun’s bright finish."
- Original Sin Hard Apple Cider - I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but based on the reviews on Ratebeer it looks like it should fit nicely between the sugar-laden, "malt beverage-based" cheap ciders and the boutique local stuff from the like of Blue Mountain and Wandering Aengus.
- Coney Island Variety Pack - This variety pack contains 3 bottles each of Coney Island's four craft lagers: Coney Island Lager, Mermaid Pilsner, Albino Python, and Sword Swallower.
That's it for now. Tune in Friday for more!
