Kegorator Blog and Contest

There's a new member in the beer blogosphere simply called Kegorator Blog started with the rather ambitious goal of creating a nationwide database of keg retailers to aid consumers in their quest for the perfect keg. The database is pretty sparse right now, but he has forms in place for users to add retailers to the list, so if you have knowledge of breweries or keg retailers help them out and add them to the list.

As a means of generating traffic and interest in the site, they're running a great contest with the winner to receive a free kegorator. If you can write the best paragraph explaining why YOU deserve to win then all of your draught-filled dreams will come true. Entry form and legal mumbo-jumbo can be found right here.

The kegorator pictured, is a piece of junk. I hope anyone looking into buying one shells out extra moeny for a cooled tower. IF you buy one with mearly some insulation, you are going to have extreme foam problems.

Scott - I agree that a fan-cooled tower would be ideal, but I don't think anyone would have "extreme foam problems" with this system. There can't possibly be more than 4ft of line between the coupler and the tap, so as long as you dumped the first couple "beer line" ounces each day I'm sure it would pour just fine. To each his own, but I'd gladly take a free kegorator even if it only had some insulation...

It's free... What's not to like about a free kegerator? Even if it was the worst piece of junk ever made I could sell it for parts and make a few bucks.

Com'on now.

I'll enter, but I'll probably want to build a larger one anyway. That's too small to both lager and serve beer with.
