Beautiful Beer, Beautiful Weather
My parents are in town for a couple days, and we decided to take them on a whirlwind tour of Crater Lake and the coast over the weekend. It was a great trip, and the time off was much-needed, but I'm glad to be home.
What does this have to do with beer? Not much (my parents don't really drink), but I did convince them to stop at the Pelican Brewery yesterday so they could snap a couple pictures of Haystack Rock and I could have a beer. The weather was about as perfect as you can get on the coast, and the beer was just what I needed to sustain me for the final leg of the journey.

Pelican may well have the most beautiful brewpub location ever. I haven't been there for yonks, and when I did the beer was sub-par, but the view? Unreal.
Oh!!
yeah, I haven't been terribly crazy about their beer, but some of their stuff on tap here in town has been good, so maybe I need to give them another try? I certainly need to drink stout on the beach!
Did you guys try the Tsunami Stout or India Pelican Ale??? It's hard to imagine anybody finding those to be subpar, especially the Tsunami. Both beers have won numerous awards.
What a great photo! It inspired the haiku of the day at Beer Haiku Daily. I hope you don't mind that I posted a copy of the photo and linked it back here. Let me know if you want me to attach a name to the photo credit, remove it or edit it in any way.
Thanks.
You guys do great work here. It makes me want to move back to Oregon.
Hey Cap'n!
Link away! Until I'm famous enough to charge for my photography services I'm just happy to see the pictures out there. ;)
Frankly, the fact that it inspired poetry is worth more to me than a photo credit :)
