Return of the Rodenbach + New Releases

A little bird just dropped in to let me know that we'll be receiving some Rodenbach tomorrow. Regrettably there won't be any Alexander, but we will have the Rodenbach Classic, the new cherry infused Redbach, and even a couple cases of the Grand Cru. I won't know the prices until it arrives tomorrow, but I'll be happy to hold bottles for anyone who's interested.

Sierra Nevada - Brown Ale: This is the first time Sierra Nevada has bottled their brown ale, and they're hoping it will fill their seasonal gap between Summerfest and Celebration. I've never had it, but based on the reviews this seems to be a great example of the smooth, easy drinking "English Brown" style. Expect more info and personalized tasting notes in a day or two.

Bard's Tale - Dragon's Gold: Celiacs Rejoice! The first in the new wave of Gluten-free beers should arrive tomorrow.

EDIT - TUESDAY 8/22 9:15am: The Rodenbach and Bard's Tale have arrived, here's the prices and other vital info:

Rodenbach Classic: $2.45 per 8.5oz bottle
Rodenbach RedBach: $2.70 per 12oz bottle
Rodenbach Grand Cru: $9.95 per 750ml bottle

Bard's Tale Dragon's Gold: $2.20 per 12oz bottle

You know, the "new beers" page on the Belmont Station website are all from February!

I know. That's the same time I created the blog and linked to it from the new beer page. This thing is a lot easier and faster to publish on than our main site, and since it allows feedback I can better respond to peoples quetions.

The whole site is probably due for an overhaul, but with everything going on right now it's pretty low priority.

Rodenbach! One of my faves, and you haven't had it for ages. Why?? Is this going to be a limited-engagement kind of thing? Do I need to stock up?

Rodenbach was bought out by Palm (one of the big conglomerate) a couple years ago and they stopped exporting until they got all the corporate stuff sorted out, bottles relabelled, etc...

It used to be one of my favorites as well, but I haven't had any since the takeover, so it remains to be seen whether or not they fudged up the recipe. It should be regularly available, so let's hope it's as good as we collectively remember.

I stopped by the store coupla days ago and studied the bottles. The Grand Cru may be the way to go--looks to be still aged in the old barrels where the funk lives. I bet it will be tasty good--
